Kowloon Waterfront

From picture-perfect museum backdrops to views across lively Victoria Harbour to the bustle of Hung Hom there is a lot to explore in this flat, out-and-back Kowloon Waterfront Run.

This route starts and ends at the TST Clock Tower.  Set out along the picturesque Tsim Sha Tsui promenade.  At the end of the Avenue of Stars, the route goes up and over along a pedestrian bridge beside the Hung Hom bypass.  Once across, the route continues along the waterfront past the Hung Kom ferry pier, along the Hung Hom and Whampoa promenades ending at the pretty Laguna housing complex.

After admiring the view across the harbour, turn and retrace your steps to TST.

Practicalities

Getting Here

The route is easy to get to by public transport.  From Hong Kong Island hop on the MTR to TST, or enjoy the terrific views and ride the Star Ferry from Central Pier 5 to Tsim Sha Tui.  If you’re coming by car, there is parking at Harbour City very close to the start point.

Food & Drink

There is no shortage of places to grab a coffee at the end of this run. Try one of the cafes in or around the Museum of Art.  Or take the elevator up to Elephant and Grounds on the K11 rooftop.

If you are looking for a coffee en-route, and why not, we’d recommend NOC Whampoa.

Changes to the Route

Extending the Kowloon Waterfront run means leaving the pedestrian promenades and joining Hong Kong’s busy streets.  One good option is to run North from the clock Tower and loop around the gardens, pools and pink flamingos of Kowloon Park.  This loop will add about 3 km to your run.

More Info

One of the best places to take in Hong Kong’s nightly Symphony of Lights is the TST promenade.  Plan your run for 8pm and take in the show.
